She’s a minor character, but all characters have to be developed to keep your world and story telling tight.
Anyhoo, as I’d been saying for a long time now the nagas were just a problem. A revisit to some of the old myths they were based on presented a solution, however. Nagas in some parts of the world were also shapeshifters, and were often seen in their pure snake form but with wings. This is how the new design was born.
This comic was created while I was developing Ruby out, so you can see some changes from panel 1 to panel 2. To create the other nagas – or at least a bunch of other nagas – I’ll have to open Blender and do things so they’re still the part that’s slowing me down the most.
In July I might be going into surgery, which of course will slow things up a bit. So if this website falls silent again, don’t panic. I’m probably in recovery.
I’ve also been thinking – rather than do the old model of putting out print comics when a chapter is done I am going to try to do the opposite. Because I’m trying to make sure my websites are ahead of schedule, I’ll offer printed chapters ahead of time *and* I’m going to give them to Patreon and Subscribe Star people. That way if you’re in a hurry the option will be there.
Cross your fingers.
